I wanted to make a more upbeat and fun song to include within this album. The result is the song ‘House on Wheels’. The song is meant to get people fired up to enjoy the outdoors this summer.
I want to give a special shout out to my friend Matt who helped with percussion, ambient guitar, and electric guitar on this track.
Beyond that, we do have a special announcement!
We bought a simple yet new cabin (5 years old) in upper Wisconsin on 5 acres of land outside of Eagle River, WI! We are in a process of getting it more domesticated with the hopes of possibly moving up there full-time.
We just got done spending our first week up there. It was discouraging that our son Blaise had to get antibiotics for Lymes disease and the bugs (ticks, biting gnats, mosquitos, & flies) were pretty difficult on our whole family. Since, there is no plumbing (there is a nice space for bathroom that has a shower and sink that has a basic drain that goes directly outside), we had to use the outhouse/shed (pictured below), which is where it seemed like there was a lot of ticks. It was around 90 degrees each day, a lot hotter than it normally is up north. Despite the suffering, we are very grateful to God that we have this beautiful place now to call our own.
Our first time at the cabin was not all suffering. About five miles away we found a beautiful sandy beach with clear water that the kids absolutely loved. We went there almost everyday and met some really nice people there and around the nearby town. The cabin inside is very well built with a beautiful kitchen, wood burning stove, loft area, and the land has a lot of space and is set off the road a good distance so you really are in nature. We do have a well scheduled to be drilled in July but in the meantime we found an artesian spring nearby to fill up to keep our water supply.
Our hope is to host families, friends and musicians on the property. Please pray for us as we discern each detail. This weekend my father-in-law and I are going to be trying to get some work done interiorly and exteriorly. We are going to cut down a lot of the tall grass, some small trees, and some of the low tree branches to try to reduce the bugs and to open up the yard a little more (pictures below shows area of taller grass we want to start mowing/possibly clearing out). Inside, we are going to start finishing the bathroom area. For next month, I have a song I am working on about the Eucharist that I hope to finish. I may make a video for YouTube showing more of the cabin/yard. I ask for special prayers for myself and my family during this time that everything goes smoothly.

I ask for special prayers for myself and my family during this time that everything goes smoothly. I have been a little anxious trying to balance music, buying the cabin, and figuring out everything that goes with it. I am also trying to figure out where I am going to record/work on music when we are at the cabin. It could be the loft or in our camper.
Finally I would just like to say Happy Birthday to my wife, Calena! (June 17th). Thank you for being there for me through all the adventures of our marriage thus far! You are an awesome mom, teaching our kids so much through your daily service and joy. You are an awesome wife, the best cook, and so kind to me! I love you!
